Note: The GO Competition / 9U program is a Saturday competition. Net Set is training only, while GO is the Saturday competition for 9U players.

IMPORTANT: If you are registering for 9U and are a new player to our club, or if you are a coach registering your child, please contact us at spjnetball@gmail.com prior to completing your registration.

Player Positions

During registration, you will be asked to enter your child’s playing positions. This is a very important part of the team selection process.

Please enter the positions your child is best suited to, not just their favourites.
This helps us place players where they can contribute strongly to their team and continue developing their skills.

We encourage you to discuss this with your child’s coach, especially if:

⭐You are unsure which positions they are most effective in

⭐Your child has only ever played one or two positions

⭐Their preferred position differs from where they generally play well

⭐They are new to the age group or moving up

Coaches can provide helpful insight into where your child has shown strength, improvement, or development opportunity.

Please remember:

⭐Players may rotate across positions during the season

⭐Team needs and development pathways are considered

⭐Position preferences are not guarantees, but they significantly assist us in forming balanced teams

Thank you for completing this section thoughtfully, it truly helps during team placements.

To ensure your player has their uniform before the first game the uniform order cut-off: 14 January 2026

Team Placement
We cannot make any guarantees about which team players will be placed in. If your daughter/son has friends in a specific team, you can let us know and we will do our best to accommodate, but this isn’t always possible. Please register with the understanding that while all players will be placed in a team, it may not be their preferred team.

Training & Attendance

Please take note of all training and game dates, including during school holidays. These are listed in our calendar

Attendance at training is expected. Frequent unexplained/unreasonable absences may lead to reduced game time on Saturdays.

Regular attendance is important because it helps teach key values that community sport aims to develop, including:
⭐ Commitment: Following through on responsibilities to your team.
⭐ Resilience: Developing perseverance and the ability to overcome challenges.
⭐ Respect: Our coaches volunteer their time generously, and attending training consistently demonstrates appreciation for their effort and dedication.

It also supports:
⭐ Player development: Skills, fitness, and understanding of team strategies are built during training.
⭐ Team cohesion: Consistent participation helps the team work together effectively on game days.
⭐ Fair consideration: Commitment and attendance may be considered when selecting teams or end-of-season awards.

Important Safety Notes:
⭐ Siblings, regardless of age, must be supervised by their parent or guardian at all training sessions. Coaches and committee members are not responsible for supervising siblings.
⭐ Parents/guardians should ensure siblings do not play in areas where they could interrupt training sessions or game play.
⭐ Bikes, scooters, and particularly electric scooters/bikes are not permitted on the netball courts.
⭐ Dogs are not permitted on the courts.

Coaches & Umpires

Each team requires a coach and an umpire for the season to proceed. If you are interested in coaching or umpiring, please contact the committee. Full support and guidance will be provided.

Coach Incentive – Winter 2026
This year, coaches will receive a 50% discount on one child’s SPJ club fee, subject to terms and conditions, including:
